Who is Darren Dreger?

Darren Dreger is a Canadian sportscaster for TSN. He serves as hockey insider on the NHL on TSN, and is the host of Leafs Lunch on AM640 Toronto Radio. He is often the first reporter on TSN to break blockbuster and minor league deals, as well as free agent signings, and other relevant news from around the NHL.

Dreger was the former host of Hockey Central on Rogers Sportsnet between 1998 and 2006. On July 14, 2006, it was announced that Dreger would leave Sportsnet and join TSN on July 31, 2006, hence 'crossing the parking lot'.

He used to work at CKY-TV in Winnipeg.

Dreger is a second cousin of former Vancouver Canucks GM and current Toronto Maple Leafs GM Dave Nonis.

Dreger attended college at Western Academy Broadcasting College in Saskatoon, SK.

Dreger won a Gemini in 2010 in the Best Sports Reporting category for his coverage of the firing of NHLPA Executive Director Paul Kelly.
