Who was David Enoch?

David Enoch was an Israeli chess player.

He was born in Auschwitz in 1901 but immigrated to Berlin after the first world war. He tied for 6-7th at Berlin 1927, and took 10th at Berlin 1929.

Enoch emigrated from Germany to Palestine in 1933. He took 2nd, behind Abram Blass, at Tel Aviv 1935. He played for Palestine on second board in the 6th Chess Olympiad at Warsaw 1935.

He won against Creevey, Henri Grob, Bjørn Nielsen, Rasmusson, George Alan Thomas, and Karel Opočensky.

He drew with Stefano Rosselli del Turco, Mieczysław Najdorf, Aleksandras Machtas, Frank Marshall, and Andor Lilienthal.

He lost to Louis Betbeder Matibet, Milan Vidmar, Rudolf Spielmann, Gunnar Friedemann, Miklós Bródy, and Gösta Stoltz.

A game he lost at Berlin 1927 against Aron Nimzowitsch is included in Nimzowitsch's My Praxis.
