Who is David Ford?

David Watson Ford is a Canadian slalom canoeist who has competed since the mid-1980s.

He won two medals in the K-1 event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold in 1999 and a silver in 2003. Ford also competed in five Summer Olympics, earning his best finish of fourth in the K-1 event in Athens in 2004. He is the overall World Cup champion in K-1 from 2003.

On April 25, 2009, Ford married Canadian alpine skier Kelly VanderBeek.
