David Penner

Who is David Penner?

David Penner began his musical career at a young age and was a member of several bands throughout high school and college. He plays several instruments including guitar, bass, piano, saxophone, sitar and some percussion. He studied sitar with George Rukert and jazz saxophone with Andy Netter. David is a founding member of Andain which was created in 2002. He has toured throughout the US, Europe and Asia with the band.

Born and raised in Nebraska his family moved to Pakistan when he was 15. He finished high school in Islamabad and received his degree in Aerospace from MIT in Boston. David moved to San Francisco in 1999 and loves the Bay Area. He is currently involved in various musical projects.

On February 4, 2009, Dave Dresden announced through Beatportal a joined partnership with Mikael Johnston from Mephisto Odyssey. The new duo confirmed the creation of their first track, which features guitarist David Penner from Andain.
