Dean Anthony Gratton

Who is Dean Anthony Gratton?

Dean Anthony Gratton is an author and columnist, specializing in wireless communications.

He was born in Cardiff and secured his first software engineering role with Coinmaster Manufacturing Limited, Penarth Road, Cardiff, which entered into administrative receivership, March 2003.

Gratton moved to Cambridge, England in the mid-1990s to further his career in software engineering. In 2000 Gratton became Editor of the Specification of the Bluetooth Profiles v1.1, Part K:9 and in 2001 his work with Bluetooth wireless technology received a US patent. Later that year, Gratton received a publishing contract for his first book titled Bluetooth Profiles: The Definitive Guide, Prentice Hall which was subsequently published in January 2003. He also participated in defining the initial Bluetooth Personal Area Networking profiles, and was active in the Near Field Communication technology and marketing committees.

Gratton studied for a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with the Open University and later in 2007 he received a Doctorate in Telecommunications.
