Who is Dean Leffingwell?
Dean Leffingwell is an entrepreneur, software industry executive, and technical author who provides software product planning and strategic advisory services to software companies.
Currently, Mr. Leffingwell serves as chairman and director of Pelion Systems, Inc., as director and advisor to OneRealm, Inc., and as advisor to BV-Cornerstone Ventures, LP, Ping Identity Corporation, Sage Circle, Inc., and Roving Planet, Inc.
An authority on software development practices, Mr. Leffingwell is the lead author of the text Managing Software Requirements: A Use Case Approach (Addison-Wesley, 2003, second edition). He is currently working on another book, The Software Product Manager's Handbook.
Recently, Mr. Leffingwell worked at Rational Software, where he held various positions including the role of Senior Vice President, Process and Project Management. Previously, Leffingwell was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Requisite, Inc., which was acquired by Rational in 1997. Prior to 1993, Leffingwell was founder, chairman and CEO of publicly-held Colorado MEDtech, Inc. and its predecessor, RELA, Inc., a product development and manufacturing outsourcing company.
