Who is Dean Starkey?
Dean Starkey is an American pole vaulter. His personal best is 5.92 meters, and he won a bronze medal at the 1997 World Championships.
As of 2006, Dean Starkey lives in Arizona and still enjoys athletics. His favorite hobby is motocross. Starkey broke the record for most vaults over 19-feet by an American in 1994 when he leaped over the barrier seven times. He and his wife, Jill, coach vaulters at Arizona Pole Vault Academy He has two daughters, Taylor and Tyra and son Garrett, also polevaults.
