Who is Deborah K. Ross?
Deborah K. Ross is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the state's thirty-fourth House district, including constituents in Wake county. An attorney from Raleigh, North Carolina, Ross is currently serving in her fifth term in the state House of Representatives.
Ross defeated Republican Phil Jeffreys in the November 2004 General Assembly election. She faced no opposition in the November 2006 general election. In 2007, Ross was elected as one of the House Democratic Whips. On May 1, 2013, she announced she would resign from her service in June, returning to the private sector.
Ross is a former ACLU attorney, managing the ACLU of North Carolina for over seven years.
