Del Staecker

Who is Del Staecker?

Del Staecker, born November 23, 1950, is an American author of suspense thrillers and non fiction. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He is also a member of the Military Writers Society of America, and the International Association of Crime Writers.

Staecker was born in Blue Island, Illinois, and graduated from The Citadel with a degree in history. After a thirty year distinguished career in fund raising for charitable causes he cloistered himself in an isolated cabin in Idaho and began writing. His initial work, The Muted Mermaid, was released to critical acclaim. Nicholas Gage, Co-executive producer of The Godfather, Part III, said, his first novel is as rich, complex and satisfying as the best works of Raymond Chandler and Elmore Leonard. John Seigenthaler, founding editorial director of USA Today called Staecker “a master storyteller.”

During his fundraising career Staecker originated the Donor Bill of Rights, a declaration listing universal rights of donors to charitable causes.
