Who is Denis Burns?

Denis Gerard Burns is an Irish retired hurler who played as a right corner-back for the Cork senior team.

Burns made his first appearance for the team during the 1975 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1980 championship. During that time he won three Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal.

At club level Burns is a one-time All-Ireland medalist with St. Finbarr's. In addition to this he has also won three Munster medals and four county club championship medals.
