Who is Dennis Diken?
Dennis Diken co-founded the N.J. band The Smithereens. Besides playing with The Smithereens, Dennis is a fill-in DJ on WFMU.
As a musician and record producer, Diken has worked with The Smithereens, Ben E. King, Mary Weiss of 1960s girl group The Shangri-Las, Dave Amels, and R. Stevie Moore.
In 2002 Diken collaborated with Dave Amels to form the band Husky Team. They released the album "Christmas In Memphis" on the Confidential Recording label.
In 2009 Dennis Diken's first solo album, credited to "Dennis Diken with Bell Sound," entitled "Late Music" was released on Cryptovision Records.
In 2012 Dennis Diken with Bell Sound recorded a version of "Love Grows" for a fund raising cd titled "Super Hits Of The Seventies" for radio station WFMU.
Diken was also a judge for the 9th, 10th, and 11th annual Independent Music Awards to support independent artists' careers.
