Dennis Galer Goodwin is a British man recognized by Guinness World Records as going on the world's longest hunger strike, lasting 385 days and ending in 1973. Goodwin ate only water during his hunger strike, although he was fed orally through a tube by authorities. His hunger strike was in protest of his incarceration in Wakefield Prison in West Yorkshire, England after being accused of rape.
