Who is Derek Byrne?

Derek Byrne is a radio presenter on Dublin's alternative station Phantom 105.2. He hails from Rush, County Dublin. He presents The Lounge, a three hour general music show on Sunday nights from 9pm, and was the presenter of The Album Archive, a one hour specialist show that aired on Sunday nights from midnight. Derek also works as a technical producer on The Kiosk, Phantom's arts and culture show, which airs every Saturday morning at 11am. He also presents the Saturday lunch show from 12pm until 2.30pm. He regularly fills in on various other shows on Phantom, most notably Key Cuts.

The Album Archive two hour special on U2's 'Joshua Tree' was nominated for the Music Special award at the 2008 PPI Radio Awards, on October 10, 2008. It was awarded the silver prize with gold going to BBC Radio Ulster.
