Who was Dick Sutherland?
Dick Sutherland was an American film actor, mostly during the silent era. Born in Benton, Kentucky as Archibald Thomas Johnson, he appeared in 76 films between 1921 and 1932. His crude threatening looking features were a result of acromegaly. This visage led to his being typecast in menacing roles from one film to another.
Sutherland died in Hollywood, California from a heart attack, at the age of 52.
