Who is Dimitris Andrikopoulos?

Dimitris Andrikopoulos is a Greek composer born in Larisa in 1971.

He studied composition at the Rotterdam's Academy of Music and Dance with K. de Vries. His composition studies were concluded in 2001 with the award of the Diploma of Composition. In 2004 he completed his post-graduate studies on electronic music composition in Rotterdam while winning at the same time the Composition Price of the Rotterdam's Academy of Music and Dance.

One of his main composition interests is the interaction of different disciplines in music and mainly the combination of the acoustic and electronic world. His first attempts in that direction are the "Nuances of Blue" for Soprano, Electronics and Dance and "Bati no portao do tempo perdido" that was written for Rosa Ensemble followed by "Ariadne" for Soprano, Cello and live Electronics, "EOS" for Piano and live Electronics, "Cassandra's Tales" for Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon and Electronics.

He worked with various groups and orchestras like: Walpurgis, Dance Studio Arabesque, Dance Collective DC2High, Ensemble Emanon, Duo Beumer and van Ham,!Ynx Ensemble, Mondriaan Quartet, Duo Pallas&Pallas, Drumming Percussion Group, Jazz Orchestra of Matosinhos, Asko Ensemble, National Orchestra of Athens, Nederlands Ballet Orkest, Orchestre National de Lorraine, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, Remix Ensemble and interpreters like Lorenda Ramou, Hebe Mensinga, Doris Hochscheid, Sergio Carolino, Joao Barradas, Miquel Bernat among others.
