Who was Dobie Gillis Williams?

Dobie Gillis Williams was an American citizen. He was executed by the State of Louisiana for the murder of Sonja Knippers. In 2005, Williams was one of two subjects of a book by anti-death penalty activist Sister Helen Prejean. She contended that Williams was wrongfully executed and could not have possibly committed the murder, and was convicted and executed because of ineffective legal counsel and because poor people are disproportionately executed.
