Who was André Wilmart?

Dom André Wilmart O.S.B. was the Benedictine medieval scholar and liturgist of St Michael's Abbey, Farnborough.

He was a Corresponding Fellow of the Medieval Academy of America from 1928.

He is responsible for the name and the works of John of Fécamp being recovered.

Wilmart's article on Alan Rufus and Alan Niger is an important secondary source of information on these two Breton counts who were successive tenants-in-chief under the first two Norman kings of England.

His bibliography includes more than 375 books and articles.
