Who is Don Toth?
Donald James Toth is a Canadian provincial politician and was Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from the Governments first term in office. Dan D'Autremont replaced him as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan on December 5, 2011, the Governments first sitting. He has represented the constituency of Moosomin in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan since 1986. Originally elected as a member of the Progressive Conservatives, he was a founding member of the Saskatchewan Party in 1997. On December 10, 2007, he was elected Speaker by acclamation.
He was educated at the University of Saskatchewan and the Full Gospel Bible Institution in Eston.
As of 2014, Toth is the only MLA still in the Legislative Assembly to have served in the Grant Devine government of the 1980s.
