Who is Ed Colligan?
As president and chief executive officer of Palm, Inc., Ed's mission is to drive the company's global leadership of
the mobile computing market with innovative products such as Treo smartphones. Prior to being named president, Ed
was a senior vice president and general manager of the company's Wireless Business Unit.
In 2003, Palm and Handspring became one company and one of the strongest pure-play mobile computing companies in
the world. Prior to this, Ed was president and chief operating officer of Handspring, Inc.
where he led the
development and marketing efforts for handheld computers and smartphones.
Before joining Handspring, Ed was vice president of marketing for Palm, Inc., and he worked with Jeff Hawkins and
Donna Dubinsky to lead the product marketing and marketing communications efforts, including the successful positioning,
launch and marketing of the popular Palm product family.
Earlier in his career, Ed was vice president of strategic and product marketing at Radius Corporation. During his
eight years there, he helped make Radius the brand leader in Macintosh graphics, graphic imaging, and hardware
development.
He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon.
