Who was Edward Cook?
Edward Tiffin Cook, Jr. was an American athlete who competed in the men's pole vault. He competed at the 1908 Summer Olympics and tied for gold with fellow American vaulter Alfred Gilbert.
In 1907, competing as a member of the Irish American Athletic Club, Cook won the pole vault event at the Amateur Athletic Union senior championships held in Jamestown, Virginia.
Cook was born in Chillicothe, Ohio. He graduated from Cornell University in 1910 and was elected to the Sphinx Head Society during his senior year.
