Who was Edward Gurney?
Edward John Gurney was an American politician from Florida, where he served as a Representative and a United States Senator. He was the first Republican Senator elected from Florida since Reconstruction. He was also only the second member of his party to represent Florida in the United States House of Representatives in the 20th century.
