Who is Egil Søby?
Egil Søby is a Norwegian sprint canoer who competed from the late 1960s to the early 1970s. He won gold medal on K4 1000 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, and obtained a bronze medal at the 1972 Olympics in Munich on the same distance.
Søby also won three medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold and two silvers.
