Who was Elbie Schultz?

Eberle H. Schultz was an football player in the National Football League from 1940 to 1947. Over the course of his career, Schultz played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Rams and the Los Angeles Rams. He won the 1945 NFL Championship with the Cleveland Rams.

He also played for the merged Steelers teams during 1943 and 1944, to make up for the manning shortages brought on by World War II. In 1943 he played for the "Steagles", which comprised players from the Steelers and Eagles. And then in 1944, he played for "Card-Pitt", which comprised players from the Steelers and the Chicago Cardinals.

He played the positions of guard and tackle through the course of his career.
