Who was Elisabeth of Culemborg?
Elisabeth of Culemborg, nicknamed 'Lady Elizabeth was the last lord or lady of the fiefdom of Culemborg. She was the rich heiress of jonker Jasper of Culemborg and Joanna of Burgundy, rising to chief lady-in-waiting to her niece Archduchess Margaret of Austria.
In 1491 Elisabeth married Jan van Luxemburg, who died in 1508. She remarried in 1509 to Antoon I van Lalaing, later acting-governor of the Netherlands.
