Who was Elizabeth Greenfield?

Elizabeth Taylor Greenfield, dubbed "The Black Swan", was an African-American singer considered the best-known black concert artist of her time. She was noted by James M. Trotter for her "remarkably sweet tones and wide vocal compass".
