Who is Elizabeth Loftus?
Elizabeth F. Loftus (born October 16, 1944) is an American psychologist and expert on human memory. She has conducted research on the misinformation effect and the nature of false memories. It has been stated that her research on nontraumatic false memory has been misapplied to traumatic memory. Her lost in the mall technique study has been criticized for the ethics used in acquiring subjects and for being used to draw inappropriate conclusions about false memories and therapeutic techniques.
