Who is Ellen Kort?
Ellen Kort is an American poet, named the first Poet Laureate of Wisconsin in 2000 by Governor Tommy Thompson. She held the position until 2004.
She has written 11 books and 8 collections of poetry. As of 2011, Kort lives in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she is Director of Writing Services for an advertising agency.
