Who is Ellie Daniel?
Eleanor Suzanne Daniel is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic champion, and former world record-holder.
She competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, where she received a gold medal in 4x100-meter medley relay, a silver medal in 100-meter butterfly, and a bronze medal in 200-meter butterfly. She received a bronze medal in 200-meter butterfly at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. She is currently a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
She held the 200-meter butterfly world record from August 1971 to August 1972. Daniel was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as an "Honor Swimmer" in 1997.
