Who is Emily Rosemond?

Emily Rosemond is an Australian Short Track Speed Skater, who represented Australia at the 2006 Winter Olympics before switching to Track Cycling. Rosemond won National Championships in Speed Skating from 2005 - 2007 before retiring from Speed Skating, stating she "fulfilled her dreams in this sport" Rosemond was given the Keys to the City of Brisbane in 2006 after her Olympic debut at the age of 19 years old. At the Torino Winter Olympics in 2006, Rosemond placed 12th in the 1,000 m, after coming second in her heat, she then went on to the quarter finals and finished third, missing a finals berth. Rosemond suffered an ACL rupture in 2005 prior to Qualification for the Winter Olympics, she underwent surgery in 2005 which was successful, as she then later qualified for the Olympics.

Emily Rosemond also represented Australia in Track Cycling and was granted a QAS and AIS Scholarship a year after her retirement from Short Track. Rosemond relocated to Adelaide in 2009 to become a part of the AIS Hy-performance Cycling Team. Rosemond won a Silver medal at the 2009 World Cup in Cali, Colombia in the Kierin, she also later won the Oceanic Games in the Sprint, Kierin and Team Sprint Events before competing at the World Championships in Copenhagen. In the 2009 UCI Melbourne World Cup in Track Cycling she won a silver medal in the Women's Team Sprint with teammate Kerrie Meares. She won bronze in the sprint at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
