Who was Emine Hatun?
Emine Hatun was the third wife of the Ottoman sultan Mehmed I, valide sultan to their son Murad II, and the grandmother of Mehmed the Conqueror. She was married to Mehmed I in 1403. She was the daughter of Nasıreddin Mehmed Bey, the fifth ruler of Dulkadirids. Her marriage served as an alliance between the Ottomans and this buffer state. Her tomb is located at the site known as Hatuniye Tomb in Muradiye Mosque in Bursa.
