Éric Barone is a French sportsman who holds the world speed record on a bicycle, both on snow and gravel. On snow, his record is 222 kilometres per hour achieved in Les Arcs, while on gravel it is 172 kilometres per hour, achieved at the Cerro Negro volcano, in Nicaragua. His French nickname is “Baron Rouge”, which means Red Baron.
