Who is Eric Hellweg?

Eric Hellweg is the executive editor of Harvard Business Review online. In the past, he wrote a weekly column for MIT's Technology Review. He was also a twice-weekly columnist for Business 2.0 and CNN.com. He was a founding editor of Business 2.0 magazine. Other freelance credits include: The New York Times, Wired, Spin, Rolling Stone, and The Boston Phoenix. He also served as Executive Editor of Forrester Magazine.

Hellweg was featured on CNN in December 2005 discussing Wikipedia. He coined the term encyclovandalism and discussed problems with Wikipedia vandalism. Hellweg outlined three techniques that could be applied:

Entries to be put in a holding zone while reviewed

Community based rating system

Adopt a "real name" policy.

He is also a member of the Massachusetts-based rock'n'roll band Sunset Heroes. Its first recording, a cover of The Clash's "The Equaliser," will appear on The Sandinista Project, a tribute record produced by Jimmy Guterman, to be released in the spring of 2007.
