Who was Eriya Kategaya?
Eriya Kategaya was a Ugandan lawyer and politician. At the time of his death he was Uganda's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs. He was also an ex officio Member of the Ugandan Parliament, on account of being a cabinet minister. Eriya Kategaya died at 7.30pm on March 2, 2013, in Nairobi, where he had been hospitalized for a while. He was one of the many high ranking Uganda Govt officials to die from a foreign hospital at a time when the local medical facilities in Uganda are under funded or neglected
