Who is Erling Naper?

Erling Naper is a Norwegian banker and civil servant.

He took the cand.jur. degree in 1962, and then worked as a deputy judge in Sarpsborg. From 1964 to 1971 he worked for Hambros Bank in London, and in 1971 he was hired in Den norske Creditbank. He became vice president of the company, but was downsized in 1988. In 1989 he was appointed director of the Norwegian Guarantee Institute for Export Credits. The appointment was somewhat surprising, as many had expected the acting director Erik Holtedahl to get the job on a permanent basis. However, Naper had been a board member of the Guarantee Institute. He has also been a member of Norges Eksportråd.

He resides in Oslo.
