Who is F. Charles Brunicardi?

F. Charles Brunicardi is an American physician.

On July 1, 2011, Brunicardi rejoined the UCLA faculty as Moss Foundation Professor of Gastrointestinal and Personalized Surgery and Chief of General Surgery at the UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and a Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Brunicardi is a gastrointestinal surgeon-scientist who was a member of the UCLA surgical faculty from 1989 to 1995, when he was recruited to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas as George Jordan Professor and Chief of General Surgery. In 1999, Brunicardi became DeBakey/Bard Professor and Chairman of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor and held that leadership position for 12 years before returning to UCLA.
