Who is Floris Braat?
Floris Braat is a Dutch slalom canoeist who competed from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s. He won a silver medal in the K-1 team event at the 2003 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Augsburg.
Floris Braat started his canoe racing career at the age of 10 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. At the age of 14, he was the youngest participant at the Junior Worlds in Waussau, Chicago, where he finished in 18th position. He achieved his biggest success by winning the World Cup race in La Seu d'Urgell, Spain in 2000. Braat represented the Netherlands at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens where he finished in 17th position after reaching the semi finals in the K-1 event. His effort was not enough to reach the finals.
