Who is Fyodor Simashev?

Fyodor Petrovich Simashov was a Soviet/Russian cross-country skier who competed in the early 1970s, training at Dynamo in Moscow. He won the 4 x 10 km gold and the 15 km silver at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo for the USSR.

Simashev also won a complete set of medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, earning a gold medal in the 4 x 10 km, a silver in the 4 x 10 km, and a bronze in the 15 km.

He was awarded Order of the Badge of Honor.
