Previously Mr Rasmussen was a founder of the personal email provider Nameplanet.com acquired by Netidentity.com in 2002. Nameplanet.com is now part of Tucows following an acquisition in June 2006.

After ICANN revealed the New Top-Level Domain Name Applications on the 13th of June 2012 it became publicly known that Mr Rasmussen and Iain Roache had applied for 60 gTLDs through Famous Four Media Ltd
