Who was Georg Langendorf?

Georg Langendorf was an Obersturmführer in the Waffen SS during World War II. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.

Georg Langendorf was born on 28 July 1920, in Gräfenhausen, Darmstadt. He was awarded the Knight's Cross while in command of the 5th Company, 11th SS Reconnaissance Battalion, 11th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division Nordland in March 1944.

Langendorf was wounded during the Battle of Berlin in April 1945 but survived the war and died on the 28 January 1999.
