Who is George Floyd?
George Floyd was a safety who played three seasons in the National Football League for the New York Jets.
Floyd was an All-American at Eastern Kentucky University. In 1999 he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
He is currently a principal at Boone County High School in Florence, Kentucky.
Floyd was known Statewide for his vicious hard hits and knack for interceptions.
After leaving the NFL, George became a teacher and coach of several athletic teams at Bellevue High School in Bellevue Kentucky, just 3 miles south of Cincinnati. He spent nearly 18 years there and very quickly became a favorite among both athletes and students there. He was very often chosen by students as their favorite teacher, coach, and mentor.
