Who was George J. Hatfield?
George J. Hatfield served as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California from 1925–33 and was the 32nd Lieutenant Governor of California from 1935-39. In 1953 there was a state park area created located near Turlock named after him. There was also a bridge named the "George J. Hatfield Bridge" which was located along Route 165 at the San Joaquin River in Merced County.
