Who is George Kerevan?

George Kerevan is a Scottish journalist and Scottish National Party politician. He was associate editor of The Scotsman from 2000 to 2009, and was the chief executive of What If Productions Ltd. He is co-organizer of the Prestwick World Festival of Flight.

Kerevan was educated at Kingsridge Secondary School in Drumchapel, and the University of Glasgow. He held academic posts at Napier College, including Senior Lecturer in Economics, from 1975-2000. His speciality was energy economics.

He was in the International Marxist Group in his younger days, before becoming a senior Labour councillor in Edinburgh. In 1996 he joined the Scottish National Party, and was their candidate in Edinburgh East in the 2010 General Election.

He is the co-author with Alan Cochrane of Scottish Independence: Yes or No, published in April 2014.
