Who was George Loukomski?
George Loukomski was a Russian artist, art critic and art historian.
Born in 1884 in Kaluga, Russian Empire, into an old noble family, Loukomski trained in the architectural department of the Kazan Art School, then in the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. He gained his reputation in the field of art criticism and art history, working in Russian journals as well as being a talented painter.
After the Russian Revolution of 1917 he emigrated to Western Europe, continuing his work of art historian and artist.
