Who is George Morikawa?

George Morikawa born January 17, 1966 in Tokyo is a male Japanese manga author known for the long-running series Hajime no Ippo. Hajime no Ippo is a boxing manga, following the main character, Ippo, through his life and boxing career. Hajime no Ippo, as of February 2012, has 93 tankōbon, or volumes, and was adapted into its first anime series in 2000 by the Madhouse studio. The first series contains 76 episodes, while the second series, which started in 2009, contains 26. The manga has also been made into one OVA and one movie. and a follow-up 26 episodes series in 2009. On July 19, 2013, it was reported in the 34th issue of Kondasha's Weekly Shonen Magazine that a third season of Hajime no Ippo will air on October 5, 2013.
