Who is Gilbert Trausch?

Gilbert Trausch is a Luxembourgian historian. He is the best-known of the post-World War II generation of Luxembourg historians, and he and other colleagues of this generation such as Paul Margue brought a new concern for Luxembourg's international relations to their study of its history.

Trausch studied outside Luxembourg, and then taught at the same secondary school as Margue in the 1950s. Later, he was associated with the Centre Universitaire du Luxembourg and the National Library of Luxembourg, and was a Professor at the College of Europe.
