Who is Gísli Pálsson?
Gísli Pálsson is a professor of anthropology at the University of Iceland. He is the author, editor, or co-editor of several books, including Writing on Ice: The Ethnographic Notebooks of V. Stefansson, The Textual Life of Savants: Ethnography, Iceland, and the Linguistic Turn, and Nature and Society: Anthropological Perspectives. He is currently working on a biography of the first person of colour to live in Iceland, Hans Jonatan.
Gísli was awarded the Rosenstiel Award in Oceanographic Science at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami in 2000. He is a member of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland.
