Who was Grant E. Mouser?

Grant Earl Mouser was a U.S. Representative from Ohio, father of Grant E. Mouser, Jr.

Born in LaRue, Ohio, Mouser attended the LaRue Union Schools and Ohio Northern University, Ada, Ohio. He was graduated from the Cincinnati Law School in 1890. He was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Marion, Ohio. He served as prosecuting attorney of Marion County 1893-1896. He served as delegate to many State conventions.

Mouser was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-ninth and Sixtieth Congresses. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1908 to the Sixty-first Congress. He served as delegate to the 1908 Republican National Convention. He resumed the practice of law in Marion. He served as judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Marion County 1916-1925. He resumed the practice of law until 1935 when he retired. He died in Marion, Ohio, May 6, 1949. He was interred in Marion Cemetery.
