Who is Grant Napear?

Grant H. Napear is an American sports radio host at Sacramento, California radio station KHTK "CBS Sports 1140" and play-by-play announcer for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association. Napear is the play-by-play announcer for the Kings and also hosts an afternoon sports-talk program, The Grant Napear Show, on CBS Sports 1140 in Sacramento. This sports-talk program runs from 3-7 P.M. PST from Monday through Friday.

Napear is a native of Syosset, New York, graduated from Syosset High School in 1977, and pursued a degree in broadcast journalism from Bowling Green University. During his stint at the school, Napear played collegiate lacrosse.

Napear is on the board of the Future Foundation of Sacramento, a foundation providing college scholarships for disadvantaged youth. He's hosted a benefit golf tournament for the foundation since 1995. He currently lives in El Dorado Hills, California with his wife, Starr Napear, & two sons Trent and Chase.

Napear also occasionally fills in for Jim Rome on The Jim Rome show which is broadcast across the country.

Some of his trademark phrases include:

"Put it in the bucket and send him to the line!"

"Turn the sprinkler systems on because is on fire!"
