Who is Gustavo Matosas?
Christian Gustavo Matosas Paidón is a former Argentine-Uruguayan footballer, currently coaching Liga MX's Club Leon in Mexico. He played for Peñarol of Uruguay, San Lorenzo de Almagro of Argentina, São Paulo of Brazil and Tianjin Teda of China. He is renowned for being one of the most successful foreign players for Tianjin Teda, playing defense in the seasons of 99–00 and 00-01.
Matosas won a number of major titles during his career. In 1987, he won the Copa América with Uruguay and the Copa Libertadores with Peñarol. In 1993 he won the Copa Libertadores a second time with São Paulo of Brazil.
He's also the son of former Uruguayan international player Roberto Matosas.
