Who is Hafeez Malik?

Dr. Hafeez Malik was Professor of Political Science at Villanova University, in Pennsylvania. After a high school education in Mission High School, he graduated from Government College, Lahore with a BA degree in 1949. After a year in Law College he came to the USA as a student in Syracuse University, where he completed a double Master in Journalism and International relations, and then a Ph. D. in Political Science in 1960. While a student, he also worked for a Pakistani Urdu newspaper as a correspondent. In 1961, he joined Villanova University where he is working as a professor of Political Science. From 1961 to 1963, and from 1966 to present, he has been Visiting Professor at the Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. State Department. From 1971 to 1974, he was President of the Pakistan Council of the Asia Society, New York; Director of the American Institute of Pakistan Studies; and President of the Pakistan-American foundation. Since 1977, he has been the Editor of the Journal of South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. In 1992 Dr. Malik founded the Pakistan-American Congress, and then served as the Chairman of its Advising Counsel.
